Looking Forward to a Busy Week

I never would have dreamed that I would grow up to be a real estate investor, but that is who I have become.  There is just something about being able to provide individuals and businesses a place from which to operate and I like to think that I make a difference in the world.  I love the treasure seeking aspect of the job and I can’t imagine doing anything else.  But the truth of the matter is that being a real estate investor is a lot of work.  This week is a great example of what a typical busy week is for me.

The week ahead is looking like it will be one of the busiest ones yet.  You see, I am waiting to close on two apartment buildings, a house and a office building.  My team and I have been working on these deals for weeks and hopefully we will close on some (or ideally all of them) this week.  We are just waiting on the sellers to accept our offers and then we can move forward.  I have some great ideas of what we will do with the new properties, but I want to wait until we have them in hand before I bounce the ideas off of my team.

There is also a bit of damage control going on this week.  One of our office buildings had a catastrophic failure with the heating system to the point where it got cold enough in that some of the water pipes froze.  So, we have a crew in there repairing the water lines as well as a firm specializing in heating system repair Las Vegas fixing the heat so that this never happens again.  It is partially my fault since I didn’t get around to having the heating system checked out this year – I will never let that happen again.

Even though there is a busy week ahead, it will be fun.  I guess I see my career choice  to be very similar to playing the board game Monopoly in real life.  The only difference is that it that I am playing for real money and it is a lot more fun.  This was certainly the right career choice for me.
